چکیده

Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have been widely used as a recyclable catalyst in Fenton reaction for organic degradation. However, the pristine MNPs suffer from drawbacks of iron leaching acidic conditions well decreasing catalytic activity degradation at pH higher than 3.0. To solve problems, were modified by poly(catechol) (Fe3O4/PCC MNPs) using facile chemical co-precipitation method. The modification improved both dispersity and surface negative charges Fe3O4/PCC MNPs, which are beneficial to Moreover, enhanced efficiency Fe(II) regeneration during due acceleration Fe(III) reduction phenolic/quinonoid redox pair. As result, with could efficiently degrade molecules, exampled methylene blue (MB), an expanded range between 3.0 10.0. In addition, be reused up 8 cycles MB negligible lower 1.5 mg L−1. This study demonstrated promising heterogeneous catalysts

A Novel Homogeneous Fenton-like System with Fe(III)-Phosphotungstate for Oxidation of Organic Compounds at Neutral pH Values.

Ferric ion (Fe[III]) catalyzes the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)) into strong oxidants such as hydroxyl radical ((•)OH) and ferryl ion (Fe[IV]) through the redox cycling of the iron couple (Fe[II]/Fe[III]). The use of these reactions for the catalytic oxidation of organic compounds is usually limited to the acidic pH region due to the low solubility of Fe(III) and the low efficie...

Continuous-Flow Photocatalytic Degradation of Organics Using Modified TiO2 Nanocomposites

In this study, TiO2 nanotubes (TNTs) were fabricated on a Ti sheet following the anodic oxidation method and were decorated with reduced graphene oxide (RGO), graphene oxide (GO), and bismuth (Bi) via electrodeposition. The surface morphologies, crystal structures, and compositions of the catalyst were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy, Auger electron spectroscopy, X-...

Structural and functional investigation of graphene oxide–Fe3O4 nanocomposites for the heterogeneous Fenton-like reaction

Graphene oxide-iron oxide (GO-Fe3O4) nanocomposites were synthesised by co-precipitating iron salts onto GO sheets in basic solution. The results showed that formation of two distinct structures was dependent upon the GO loading. The first structure corresponds to a low GO loading up to 10 wt%, associated with the beneficial intercalation of GO within Fe3O4 nanoparticles and resulting in higher...

Multifunctional glucose biosensors from Fe3O4 nanoparticles modified chitosan/graphene nanocomposites

Novel water-dispersible and biocompatible chitosan-functionalized graphene (CG) has been prepared by a one-step ball milling of carboxylic chitosan and graphite. Presence of nitrogen (from chitosan) at the surface of graphene enables the CG to be an outstanding catalyst for the electrochemical biosensors. The resulting CG shows lower ID/IG ratio in the Raman spectrum than other nitrogen-contain...
